NOTICE
Notice Hereby Is Given that adoption of “Subdivision Regulations for the City of Rainsville, Alabama” shall be considered by the City of Rainsville Planning Commission at a public hearing on October 29, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Rainsville City Council Chambers located at 98 McCurdy Ave. S., Rainsville Municipal Annex, Rainsville, Alabama 35986.
The purpose of the proposed subdivision regulations is to establish procedures and standards for the development and subdivision of real estate within the subdivision jurisdiction of the City of Rainsville in an effort to insure proper legal description, identification, monumentation and recordation of real estate boundaries; further the orderly layout and approximate use of the land; provide safe convenient and economic circulation of vehicular traffic; provide suitable building sites which are readily accessible to emergency vehicles; assure the proper installation of streets and utilities; promote the elimination of unsafe or unsanitary conditions arising from undue concentration of population and help conserve and protect the physical and economic resources of the City of Rainsville. The regulations will give the Rainsville Planning Commission authority to review, approve, and disapprove plats for the division of real estate within the subdivision of jurisdiction of the City of Rainsville.
Any person wishing to be heard in opposition or in favor of the proposed subdivision regulations shall be provided the opportunity to be heard at the time and place stated herein.
A copy of the full subdivision regulations may be obtained from the office of the city clerk during normal business hours or may be viewed on the City of Rainsville’s website.
From and after the effective date of adoption of the subdivision regulations, the regulations shall govern the subdivision of all land located in the City of Rainsville, Alabama.
