The Mountain Valley News Pink Pumpkin Parade that was held during the month of October in conjunction with local merchants had a successful first year. We would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to everyone who participated in any way.
• Jubal-Lee Farms – for the donation of the pumpkins used in the Pumpkin Parade
• Rainsville Senior Center – for decorating the pumpkins for us
• Faith ‘N’ Hymn – for being a donation site with $26.72 collected
• Kelly’s Kitchen – for being a donation site with $14.01 collected
• Fyffe Foodland – for being a donation site with $4.62 collected
• As Close As Family – for being a donation site with $47.00 collected
• Burke’s Outlet – for being a donation site with $51.75 collected
• Rainsville Foodland – for being a donation site with $15.07 collected
• Stop to Save – for being a donation site with $29.00 collected
• Fort Payne Foodland – for their donation of a $100.00 gas card
• Green Leaf Grill – for being a donation site with $26.30 collected
• Jo Jo’s Quik Mart – for being a donation site with $15.30 collected
• Limon’s – for being a donation site with $22.87 collected
• Topher’s Wings – for being a donation site with $16.79 collected
• Western Sizzlin – for agreeing to be a donation site even though the collection jar was stolen from their business.
• And every individual who dropped their money into the collection jars
• Advertisers who participated in the Pink Page for the October 18 edition of the newspaper: As Close As Family, Dewitt Jackson, Nick Welden, Nathaniel Ledbetter, Pam Simpson, Twin City Used Cars, Lester Black, The City of Rainsville, First Southern State Bank, John Baker, Steve Livingston, and Pro Cor Roofing for an advertising total of $650, giving us a grand total of $1,019.43 collected, with 100% going to the Alabama Cancer Care Center in Fort Payne. This money will go a long way toward helping cancer patients in the area.
