RAINVILLE – On November 20, 2023, the Rainsville City Council met for its scheduled meeting. At the beginning of the work session, Mayor Lingerfelt declared a public hearing to hear comments for or against the rezoning of approximately two acres behind Kirkpatrick Concrete from R-3 to B-3. Farmers Telecommunications is considering purchasing the property. The surrounding property is already zoned as B-3. After no one spoke for or against the move, the hearing was closed. During the regular meeting, the Council approved the following items: • $300.00 for the installation of two street lights on Shankles Rd. • Ordinance 11-20-2023 rezoning the property behind Kirkpatrick Concrete to B-3
• Resolution 11-20-2023(A) awarding the $750.00 bid from Matthew Taheri to him for the purchase of a 2006 Ford F350
• Resolution 11-20-2023(B) awarding the $1,999.00 bid from Bejan Taheri to him for the purchase of a 2011 Ford Escape
• Empowering the Mayor to sign the CW ARPA Grant Agreement for the Waste Water Treatment System
• $900.00 to Bottom Land Services for cutting roots on Clements Street
• Travel and Training request for Joey Walden at the Rainsville Fire Department
• $500.00 sponsorship to the Cornerstone Eagles Volleyball State Champions to purchase state championship rings
• $9,362.17 to Taylor Sudden Service Inc. to replace/program a control board on the generator
• ADECA & ARCA Grant for sewer rehab on the west side of Rainsville with a Prebid set for Dec.12 and opening on December 20
The next Rainsville City Council meeting will be on December 4, 2023.
