Due to a mid-season loss to the Plainview Bears, the Sylvania Rams found themselves in the position of having to defeat the heretofore undefeated Fyffe Red Devils. It didn’t happen. Fyffe did what Fyffe does. Payton Anderson put the Red Devils in the lead for good with a 2-yard touchdown run with just over 9 minutes to go in the opening quarter. Midway of the first, Zach Pyron scored on a 7-yard quarterback keeper and Anderson’s 2-point conversion put Fyffe up 14-0. Anderson and Pyron would each score again in the second quarter to give the Red Devils a 28-0 advantage going into the half.
Anderson and Pyron continued to dominate the scoreboard in the third quarter with another pair of touchdown runs to end Fyffe’s scoring for the night at 41. In the fourth quarter, Levi Anderson scored on a 12-yard run for the Rams to avoid the shutout and Gareth Anderson added a 2-yard touchdown run to end the game at 41-14. Payton Anderson finished with 123 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Nathan King led the Rams with 99 yards on 11 carries. Fyffe (10-0) will host Cleveland (5-5) Friday night in the first round of the 2A playoffs.
