Rainsville City Council Meets

On Monday, April 15, 2019, the Rainsville City Council met for its bi-monthly meeting. The council approved the following actions during the meeting:
• Approved contracting Jimmy Traylor to make repairs to the drainage system and porch at the DeKalb County Board of Education for $6,870.00
• Approved the adoption of the newly revised City Employee Handbook
• Approved Resolution 4-15-2019 declaring July 19-21, 2019 as Back to School Tax-Free Holiday
• Approved the purchase of a lawnmower from Boykin Tractor for $12,750.00 for the Parks and Recreation Department
• Hired Johnathon Haney as Patrolman for the Rainsville Police Department at a salary of $14.06 per hour with a two-year contract agreement
• Hired Sean Fowler as Patrolman for the Rainsville Police Department at a salary of $14.06 per hour with a two-year contract agreement
• Agreed to reimburse Johnathon Haney $2,815.00 for his training for the police department
• Agreed to reimburse Sean Fowler $1,930.00 for his training for the police department
• Declared May as Spring Clean-Up Month for the city opening the dumpster at the park during weekdays and Saturdays in May for Rainsville residents
• Approved the purchase of pool employee uniforms for $1,728.94
• Agreed to pay the bills
The meeting was then adjourned.
