You might have seen Rainsville Girl Scout Troop 10627 out and about as you go shopping or buy your week’s groceries and just in case you’ve missed them all together…THE COOKIES ARE BACK!!!
A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of Girl Scout Cookies remains with the troop who sells them. Rainsville’s Troop is very active and have benefited through education field trips, as well as local and international service projects. In the past, Troop 10627 has supplied toiletry items for the people of Haiti, packed shoe boxes that have been distributed internationally, supported local food pantries, and prepared gift bags for local police officers and fire fighters (do be distributed in the near future).
In 2018 Troop 16027 visited Tigers for Tomorrow and learned about the severely endangered species. In April 2019 they will participate in “Camp at the Zoo” in Birmingham.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is an impactful entrepreneurial program that has sparked the success of millions of women. The program, the largest annual investment in girls in the United States, powers amazing experiences for girls as they learn invaluable entrepreneurial skills and make the world a better place.
We encourage consumers to support the female leaders and change-makers of today and tomorrow. While just 17% of startups are founded by women, the cookie program equips girls with the skills and attributes they need, such as persistence, confidence, and healthy risk-taking, to become business founders and leaders in the future.
All of the proceeds fund troop projects and experiences, as well as important programming at the local level, such as outdoor adventure and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Many Girl Scouts invest their earnings back into their communities, which means that consumers are not just purchasing delicious cookies—they’re also supporting the betterment of their communities and a bright future for girls.
The lasting positive impact of the Girl Scout Cookie Program on girls’ lives is remarkable. The essential skills a Girl Scout learns through the cookie program, powers meaningful experiences that prepare girls for lifelong leadership and success—from speaking up in school and running for class office, to shattering glass ceilings in the workplace.
Girl Scout Cookies can only be purchased from a registered Girl Scout. To find Girl Scouts selling cookies near you, visit www.girlscoutcookies.org or use the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, free on iOS and Android devices.
