FORT PAYNE – The Fort Payne Police Department reported that on April 3, 2024, around 4:08 pm, Fort Payne 911 received a call of a traffic accident in the 3100 block of Wallace Av NE (AL Hwy 35) involving a vehicle and an ATV.
The driver of the ATV, a juvenile male, was transported to Dekalb Regional Medical Center, where he later passed away due to the injuries he sustained from the wreck. The accident is currently under investigation by Fort Payne Police Department’s traffic homicide investigators. Currently, no charges are expected.
The juvenile was sixth grader Carson Blake Bowling, an eleven-year-old student at Cornerstone Christian Academy. The students at Cornerstone will honor Carson’s life with a Celebration of Life Balloon Release on April 12, 2024, at 9:00 am. The school posted on its Facebook page, “In this time of deep sorrow, we invite all fifth-grade students and older to come together for a solemn and heartfelt occasion. Let us release balloons as a poignant symbol of our collective grief and remembrance for Carson Bowling.”
Carson was the son of Dean Bowling and Leslie Blevins Bowling. He was a member of Rock Bridge Holiness Church
