Makenna Joy Purvis was last seen on September 26, 2022. She is a nineteen-year-old young lady from Valley Head, Alabama. Purvis is 5-feet 6-inches tall, weighs about 100-120 pounds and has red hair with hazel eyes. She was last seen in a wooded area. On October 22, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with the Fischer Rescue Team, the Valley Head Police Department, the Mentone Police Department, the DeKalb County EMA and other local fire departments assisted in the search of the area for Makenna.
DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden issued an update on the search on October 26. The report stated that as of 10/22/2022 Makenna is still missing. Makenna’s family and friends are very worried about her. They ask that if Makenna sees this message for her to please come home or at least call someone to just let them know you are ok.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Fisher Rescue and their team for spending 8+ hours of your Saturday to help search for Makenna. The team had members from Athens Al, Murfreesboro Tn, and all-over North Alabama. Two canine search teams searched as well.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to let Makenna know she is not in any trouble at all. We only want to see Makenna back safe with the family and friends that love her so dearly. If you know where Makenna might be or have seen her, please call the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office at 256-845-3801 or the Investigation Office at 256-845-8562.
DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the incident: “If any one has any information on Makenna’s whereabouts, please contact us. To have a child go missing is a parent’s worst nightmare.”
“God Bless!” Concluded Sheriff Welden.
