A meeting of City leaders was held on July 1, 2019 for the Rainsville City Council meeting, and after the meeting was called to order Councilman Brandon Freeman made a motion to approve the last two sets of minutes. The council passed the motion. Mayor Lingerfelt announced that the auditor completed the 2018 Rainsville City Audit, and each councilman had a copy to review. The council then acted on the following items:
- Amended and approved Zoning Ordinance 07012019 requiring builders to have dump trucks to dispose of waste and Porta-potties on building sites
- Approved the purchase of a $1,600.00 utility trailer for Field of Dreams
- Approved Resolution 07012019 declaring a 2007 Dodge Durango as Surplus
- Approved the purchase of a 2014 Ford Explorer for $19,517.00 from Bobby Ledbetter’s Twin City Auto
- Approved the purchase of 350 garbage cans for $16,792.34
- Approved the purchase of 20 four-yard dumpsters for $11,900.00
- Authorized Mayor Lingerfelt to negotiate and sign a contract between the City of Rainsville and the City of Geraldine for Sanitation Services
- Approved the $2,000.00 tile repair on County Club Lane
- Approved paying the bills
- Set the next meeting for July 15, 2019
Councilman Freeman announced that the Rainsville Farmers Market meets on both Tuesdays and Thursdays during July at 4:00 pm. Councilman Bejan Taheri stated that the paving at the Tom Bevill Enrichment Center was complete and signs would be put up soon. The Rainsville City meeting was then adjourned.
