MONTGOMERY – The Alabama State Department of Education honored Plainview High School at its November 9, 2023, State Board of Education meeting for its excellence in the A+ College Ready program.
Plainview was one of ten schools across the state that met the criterion for the prestigious award. A+ College Ready is a program that partners with secondary schools to raise academic expectations and instructional rigor, empower school leadership to create strong academic school cultures, support educators to deliver high-quality instruction in well-equipped classrooms, prepare a diverse pipeline of students for challenging curricula, to open the doors to Advanced Placement coursework for all students, regardless of circumstance, and to increase student academic success, as evidenced by growth and achievement on the PSAT 8/9 and the number of qualifying scores. Plainview was recognized for outstanding academic achievement and unwavering commitment to the A+ College Ready Program goals.
State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey and District 8 Representative Wayne Reynolds presented DeKalb County Superintendent Wayne Lyles, Plainview Principal Chris Clark, and Plainview Assistant Principal Marilyn Bryant with a resolution recognizing their success.
