Parents living in DeKalb County needing help with Christmas presents for their children should apply through Oct 31 at the Food Assistance Office of the DHR, 2301 Briarwood S, Fort Payne, AL, 35967.
Take with you: Parents Photo ID, Children’s ID, Document showing parent lives in DeKalb County, AL – (example: current utility bill showing name and physical address), Document showing these are your children whether biological, adopted, or legal custody or legal guardianship, and Document or written statement explaining need.
Please don’t put off until the last minute!
All donations to Marine Toys for Tots of DeKalb County, AL will go towards providing new Christmas toys thus December to local children in need. We guesstimate approx 1400-1500 children in 2022. Donated funds will be used to purchase the children’s ‘wish-list’ toys as we run out of them. Toy bagging starts Nov 8, so donating sooner than later is a great help!

Our next public setup is Friday-Saturday, 21-22, October 2022, at Fort Payne Walmart from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Our Marines will be accepting new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations. At present, the most needed toys are: Large bikes 24” and 26”, Legos -Minecraft toys, Barbie & Ken dolls + clothing/sets, Fortnite toys, Nerf guns, Dinosaurs, LOL dolls, Kitchenettes, and Push-ride toys for toddlers.
Teen gifts such as cologne/bath sets, makeup sets, jewelry, hair dryers, electric shavers, scrub hues, telescopes, fishing equipment, microscope sets, sleeping bags,etc
Young kids’ bath sets, makeup sets, hooded bath towels, super hero dolls, dress up outfits -Blankets & stuffed animals for all ages
Thank you to everyone who has given funds, toys, time, energy, promotions, goods and services to help our Marines make sure local children in need have a new toy for Christmas! Last year we assisted 1,459 children in need. Children who otherwise would likely have no Christmas present beneath their tree. This year, we expect at least that many, due to the current economy. “Every Child Deserves A Little Christmas!” is the Marine Toys for Tots motto!
