On August 1, 2022, the Rainsville City Council met with all members present.
Rainsville Chamber of Commerce Director Sandy Goff and Councilman Brandon Freeman announced exciting plans for the community’s youth. On Saturday, October 29, the City will host its annual Halloween Spooktacular in the Rainsville City Park, beginning at 4:30 pm. Individuals, businesses, and churches are invited to join in on the fun by setting up displays with candy for trick-or-treaters to collect. A new edition to the night will be added this year with a block party in the Bevill Center parking lot. Food vendors and a D.J. will be there to ignite the fun. Start planning now to join in on the festivities.
During the meeting, several actions were approved. They are as follows:
• Permission to bid out the paving project on Boozer Road with bids to be opened at 10:00 am on August 31, and empowerment of Mayor Lingerfelt to sign a paving contract with the low bidder
• Empowering the Mayor to sign a contract with Shenandoah for Freedom Fest 2023 and send $7,500.00 as a deposit with the remainder of the $15,000.00 at a later date
