Rainsville City Council Meeting

On November 4, 2019, the Rainsville City Council Meeting was held. At the beginning of the meeting, two of Plainview’s Pee Wee Football Teams were recognized and congratulated for their accomplishments this year. Both the B and C teams were Super Bowl Runner- Ups for the 2019 season. MVN featured the teams’ pictures in the sports section on page B1, of this edition.
During the meeting, the council took the following actions:
- Approved sending the city clerk to the Clerk’s Conference on December 3 – 6
- Transferred Adam Facteau from the Sanitation Department to the Waste Water Treatment Plant effective in December at a pay rate of $14.06 per hour
- Posted a job at the Sanitation Department/CDL Driver at a pay rate of $13.72 per hour
- Approved a one-time pay raise for city employees of $.60 per hour
- Appointed Fred Bobo, Tim Barksdale, Jerry Smith, Dave Hallmark, Lester Black, Brian Shrader, Darrel Samples, and Joey Graham to the Sewer Board
- Appointed Jonathan Phillips, Whitney Whiteside, and John Nelson to the DeKalb Mental Health Services Board
- Appointed Ann Poe, Joyce Baker, Bill Ayers, Teresa Hill, and Marsha Hudley to the Library Board
- Appointed Faye Gaskin, Joe Flarity, Kelly Frasier, Cindy Black, Zane Mitchell, and Whitney Mitchell to the Tom Bevill Board
- Appointed Erick Samples (six-year term), Monk Blevins (four-year term), and Angie Stewart (two- year term) to the Public Building Authority Board
- Appointed Angie Stewart (one-year term), Brian Thomas (two-year term), Buddy Morgan (two-year term), Erick Samples (two-year term), Stewart Mitchell (one-year term), and Monk Blevins (two-year term) to the Agri-Center Board
- Appointed Jeffrey Pope, Zane Mitchell, Sandy Goff, Carol Laney, Skeeter Logan, and Kathy Gledhill to the Zoning Board
- Appointed Ronald Bell, Nick Ledbetter, Ronald Ward, Kevin Miller, Joe Flarity, and Leslie Colvard to the Board of Adjustments
- Appointed Joe Moncus, Benji Laney, Kevin Wilks, Donny Frasier Jr., Robert Ellis, Scott Kirk, and Jim Bradford to the Industrial Board
After the business was completed, the Rainsville City Council meeting was adjourned.
