Plainview’s Tidmore Among Top Players In The State

The Alabama Sports Writers Association recently released the 2023 Super All-State softball team composed of the top players in the state.
Selectees include elite players from various campuses across the state, seven seniors, two juniors and a sophomore.
Of those players, six played on state championship teams. Among them, Plainview’s catcher and Troy University committed Mia Tidmore.
Tidmore was named Class 3A Player of the Year and Hitter of the Year, also earning a spot in the ASWA first-team.
Statistics include a state-best.671 batting average, 110 hits, 100 runs, six home runs, 63 RBIs, 28 doubles, six triples, 25 of 27 stolen bases,.696 on-base percentage, and a 1.595 OPS.
Here’s a look at the rest of the 2023 ASWA Super All-State Softball Team:
Class 7A
Ryley Harrison, Fairhope senior, pitcher, first base, and South Alabama committed
2023 Miss Softball, Class 7A Player of the Year, ASWA first team selection
Stats: 26-1 pitching record, 12 strikeouts per 7 innings, 275 strikeouts, 17 shutouts, 3 no-hitters, 3 perfect games,.070 earned run average, and.138 batting average against. Batted.474 with 20 home runs, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 36 runs, 64 hits and 76 RBIs.
Alyssa Faircloth, Tuscaloosa County senior, pitcher and Troy University committed.
Class 7A Pitcher of the Year and ASWA first team selection
Stats: 182 innings pitched, 0.92 ERA, 0.92 batting average against, 0.92 save percentage, state-best 402 strikeouts (15.5 per 7 innings), 22-6 record as a pitcher.
Hannah Dorsett, Hewitt Trussville senior, shortstop, second baseman and UAB committed
Class 7A Hitter of the Year and ASWA first team selection
Stats: 88 hits, 62 runs, 34 RBIs, 5 doubles, 7 triples, 5 home runs, 61 of 62 stolen bases,.557 on-base percentage, and 1.483 OPS
Class 6A
Mya Holt, Wetumpka junior, pitcher, outfielder and Troy University committed
Class 6A Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, ASWA first team selection, Gatorade state player of the Year
Stats: 37-4 pitching record, 9 shutouts, 2 no-hitters, 223 strikeouts, 0.75 ERA, 215 2/3 innings pitched, .134 batting average against. Batted .512, 47 runs, 83 hits, 22 home runs, 20 doubles and state-best 96 RBIs.
Morgan Stiles, Athens junior, shortstop and Oklahoma State committed
Class 6A Hitter of the Year and ASWA first team selection
Stats: .571 batting average, state-best 101 runs, 96 hits, 78 RBIs, 22 doubles, 8 triples and 23 home runs.
Class 5A
Taniyah Brown, Brewbaker Tech senior, pitcher, first base and Memphis committed
Class 5A Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, ASWA first team selection
Stats: 43-8 pitching record (most wins in state) with a save, state-best 267 innings pitched, state-best 19 shutouts, no-hitter, 326 strikeouts (8.5 per 7 innings), 0.87 ERA. Batted .479, 78 hits, 21 home runs and 83 RBIs.
Class 4A
Ambrey Taylor, Curry sophomore, thirds and second baseman and shortstop
