Bears Battle the Rams

The Plainview Varsity Girls traveled to Sylvania on Tuesday for their face-off with the Rams. The game went back and forth until the Bears led 47-44, heading into the fourth period. The Plainview girls outscored the Rams 14-6 in the final period and went on to win the game 61-50. Ali Price and Saydi Jackson were the highest scorers with 15 points apiece, and Lauren Jimmerson came in as a close second with 11 points. Saydi Jackson also had a huge defensive game with eight rebounds, while Jesi Fairris and Hallie Brown each added six rebounds for the Bears. Then the girls took on the Asbury Rams on Friday and won 61-25. Lauren Jimmerson put up an impressive 22 points for the Plainview girls, while Hallie Brown put up 18 points and had six rebounds. Saydi Jackson was able to come down with four defensive rebounds for the Bears. On Saturday, Ider came to the Coliseum for a big game with the Plainview girls. In the first quarter, the Bears only lead by 2 points, but then they took off in the second quarter and went up 41-19. Hallie Brown was the top scorer with 13 points, but Katie Brooks came in a close second with 12 points. Jocelyn Hatfield and Kamie Sanders put up 11 points apiece. Hallie Brown came down with eight total rebounds. The varsity girls are 11 games into their season with a record of 8-3. They prepare for Spring Garden on the 8th and Fyffe on the 11th.
