Bears Maul Panters
The Plainview Varsity Boys traveled to Spring Garden on Tuesday the 8th and outscored the Panthers in every quarter bringing home the 60-35 victory. Dylan Haymon and Luke Smith filled the net with 12 points apiece for the Bears, while Cole Millican brought in 11 points and stood out with eight total rebounds. Then the Bears had to move their focus to their next game against the Fyffe Red Devils for their region matchup at the Devils’ home gym. Cole Millican and Luke Smith were on fire, each bringing in 19 points apiece. Jonah Williams added 10 points for the Bears. Luke Smith, with another stand out performance, had nine total rebounds. At halftime, the teams were tied 30-30, but the Bears came out and outscored the Devils 30-16 in the second half. The Bears dominated the second half and won the game 60-46, moving their winning streak to 9 games. The Bears also played in the 3rd Annual Bobby Ledbetter Classic on Saturday with nine other teams. They faced off against Pickins County and won a solid victory 81-40. Cole Millican had a game-high of 34 points. Jonah Williams had 14, and Dylan Haymon had 12 points. Levi Brown won several battles down low with nine rebounds. The Bears led at halftime 44-23 and then outscored the Tornadoes 37-17 in the second half. The Boys will attempt to continue their winning streak when they face off for the Sand Mountain Tournament coming up this week.
