Bears’ Winning Streak

The Plainview Varsity Boys traveled to Sylvania on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, to face an area matchup against the Rams. Plainview came out hot in the first half of the game, scoring a total of 51 points to Sylvania’s 29 points. However, the Bears would prove even tougher in the second half, only allowing the Rams to score 9 points through the game’s remainder. The Bears would put away the victory with a final score of 89-38. Cole Millican scored 15 points while Jonah Williams put up a game-high of 24 points. Jathan Underwood stood out on defense with six defensive rebounds. The Varsity Boys then took on the Asbury Rams Friday the 4th at the Dekalb Coliseum. The Bears found their scoring groove in the first half of the game with help from Luke Smith, who scored 13 points and had a 75% 3-point field goal percentage and 100% 2-point field goal percentage. Jonah Williams helped the Bears by scoring 14 points. Luke Smith showed up on defense as well with four defensive rebounds. The Bears scoring drive slowed down a bit in the second half of the game, but the Bears would ultimately get the W with a final score of 55-27. The Bears improve their record to 9-1 and look ahead to facing Spring Garden on Tuesday the 8th and Fyffe on Friday the 11th. Their next home matchup will be Saturday the 12th for the Bobby Ledbetter Classic.
