Howdy folks, Bum is back in the house for week 5. Well, that Rosson feller got the best of Bum last week as he went 8-2 while the old Guru went 7-3. Even monkeys fall from trees! The ole Guru made a few bad picks this last week. This week, we will be back in the saddle!
Speaking of last week, the Panthers of Collinsville crushed the Rock. Sand Rock, that is, with a 59-14 whipping! The Eagles of Pisgah flew past the Hornets of Ider 46 -14, and the Bison of NSM trampled the Warriors of Whitesburg Christian 42-26.
The game of the year, Geraldine vs. Sylvania, turned out to be all Rams as they jumped out to a 31-3 halftime lead and cruised to a 37-16 win! Coosa Christian conquered the Tigers of Valley Head 35-0. The Bears of Plainview swatted down the Yellow Jackets of Glencoe 35-7. The Big Red Machine of Fyffe rolled over the Lions of Section 63-0. The Pirates of South Pittsburg sailed to a 61-0 win over the Chiefs of North Jackson. Woodville canned Vina 51-16, and the Wildcats of Scottsboro clawed the Knights of Arab 28-14. Man, what a week, and it gets even better this week!
We will start off with the Big Rival game! The battle of Town Creek. Chavies vs. Shiloh! Plainview vs. Fyffe! Fyffe has a 14-game winning streak against Plainview. The last time the Bears beat the Red Devils was in 2008 by a score of 35-12. In the last 14 games, Fyffe has outscored Plainview 571-175. Can the Bears stop the Red Devils? Get ready for the fat lady to sing! Fyffe wins 31-14!
The undefeated Eagles of Pisgah travel to square off with the undefeated Rams of Sylvania. This match will be a double slobber knocker game! Sylvania beat Pisgah 34-7 last year. It is Sylvania’s homecoming! Let the homecoming party begin! NOT! The Eagles of Pisgah slip past the Rams of Sylvania to spoil homecoming 38-34! The Lions of Section take a little trip down to the Warriors of Westbrook Christian. The Warriors scalp the Lions 31-14.
The Panthers of Woodville climb the mountain to Brindle Mountain. The Panthers of Woodville get their 4th victory of the season with a 28-7 win! The Wildcats of Scottsboro try to stay unbeaten as they travel to the Bulldogs of Priceville. Scottsboro runs past Priceville 31-17. North Jackson heads to St. John Paul II looking for the Chiefs’ first win. St. John Paul is looking for its first win! Somebody will get a win this week! I don’t think it will be the Chiefs of North Jackson as St. John Paul II slips past North Jackson 28-24.
The Wildcats of Fort Payne host the Knights of Arab. Fort Payne is coming off of a bye week. The Knights are coming off a loss to Scottsboro. I look for the Wildcats to run past the Knights 45-21. The Panthers of Collinsville host Gaston! The Bulldogs will need more than a Ton of Gas to beat the Panthers! Collinsville wins 49-7! The Tigers of Valley Head travel to Ider! It is Ider’s Homecoming! Valley Head would love to make it a not-so-fun homecoming for the Hornets! I don’t think that will happen. Ider takes the win 21-14.
In Big-boy football, Clay – Chalkville travels to Thompson. Both teams come in undefeated. I look for the Warriors of Thompson to pack the Clay and crumble the Chalk of the Cougars 28-21. In Bigger Boy football, the Bulldogs of Georgia travel to the Tigers of Auburn. The Bulldogs have their way with the Tigers as Georgia wins 37-17. Arkansas and Texas AM will play in the Jerry Bowl. The Razorbacks will waller all over the Aggies 31-21!
Well, that is it for Week 5. I have two people trying to outpick me this week. Scout, whose dad could not do it, and Blake Sizemore. I hope Scout don’t listen to her dad! We know what will happen there, right Nick? Blake will wish he had not called in to pick! Make sure to save me a spot by the fence! I will see you next week!
