Howdy, it is football weather! I had to bring out the long handles for last Friday night! The ole Guru tied with Casey Gaddis. You know the saying about a tie! It’s just like kissing your sister! So, I think Casey needs to call back this week and pick again! We can’t end in a tie. I refuse to kiss my sister!
Let’s move on to last week’s games! The Big Red Machine of Fyffe rolled over, under, and sideways over the Collinsville Panthers 53-6. Coach Riley Edwards and the Section Lions got their first win of the season over the Ider Hornets 49-26. Sylvania bounced back with a big win over Glencoe 56-20.
NSM crushed the Rock that is Sand Rock, 47-28. Geraldine took care of the Indians of Ohatchee 55-6, and Valley Head ran past Cedar Bluff 44-20. Pisgah blowed past Whitesburg Christian 54-6. Hokes Bluff spoiled homecoming for the Bears of Plainview 28-14, while Lee of Huntsville upset the Wildcats of Fort Payne 49-42.
Woodville got their 5th win of the season with a 23-6 victory over Gaylesville. North Jackson got their first win of the season with a 36-20 win over New Hope. Guntersville shut down the powerful run attack of the Scottsboro Wildcats and took a 20-6 win! Week 6 was a doozie! Now, on to Week 7!
The Panthers of Collinsville will travel to Ider after a beat down from Fyffe last week. I bet they are not happy with the performance from last week. Look out, Hornets! Collinsville wins 41-17.
The Bears of Plainview travel to Sylvania. The Rams still remember last year when the Bears rallied in the 4th quarter and upset the Rams. I don’t believe it will be that way this year! Rams take care of business! Sylvania 49 Plainview 14!
The Bulldogs of Geraldine go down to Westbrook Christian for region play. Geraldine will take care of Westbrook Christian 37-21. The Valley Head Tigers are on a roll right now. I think they continue to roll as they defeat Appalachian 31-24.
NSM heads to Pisgah. The Eagles are looking for an undefeated season. They step closer with a 41-21 win over the Bison. Fort Payne is coming off a loss to Lee. They have to travel back to the Huntsville area. Can Hazel Green give the Wildcats a loss this week? I don’t think so. Fort Payne 38 Hazel Green 18.
Woodville travels to Decatur Heritage for a chance to get a record-breaking 6th win. Can they pull it off? I am afraid not! Decatur Heritage 37 Woodville 28. North Jackson is hoping to get on a winning streak. I think the streak ends at one, with Priceville winning 31-17. Scottsboro hopes to return to winning this week after a tough loss last week. I believe the Wildcats will take care of the Sardis Lions 46-21. Whitesburg Christian goes to Section. The Lions’ offense rolled up 49 points last week. Can they do it again? Yes, Section 36 Whitesburg Christian 21.
Sand Rock goes to Fyffe. Sand Rock will look like sand on the beach when Fyffe finishes them! Fyffe 61 Sand Rock 7!
Can you believe the end is in sight? It seems like we were just getting ready for football. We are coming to the end quickly! Get out and enjoy what’s left of the season while you can! Make sure to save me a spot by the fence! Have a great week! See you next week!
