Collinsville Defeated Asbury

The Panthers from Collinsville defeated Asbury in dominating fashion Friday, October 11. The Panthers didn’t score until midway of the first quarter when Dalton Hughes scored from nine yards out. Jason Perez added the PAT and the Panthers led 7-0. However, that opened the floodgates, and the Panthers rattled off four more touchdowns by the end of the opening period.
Michael Tucker scored on a 38-yard run, followed by a 20-yard touchdown strike form Kaleb Jones to Hughes. Next, Jones hit Garrett Skelton for a 14-yard scoring strike. Finally, Jones scored on a 24-yard pick six to end the opening period leading Asbury 35-0.
Collinsville increased their lead to 42-0 in the second when Trevor Arnold scored from four yards out and Oswaldo Gallegos Marroquin made the PAT.
Asbury escaped the shutout when Austin Bloodworth slipped into the endzone from the 4-yard line. Freshman quarterback James DeBoard scored on a 23-yard run to give the Panthers a 48-7 advantage at halftime.
Deboard hit Carson Dennis for 34-yard touchdown strike in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring, and Collinsville defeated Asbury in a dominating performance, 56-6.
