The Fyffe Red Devils defeated the Geraldine Bulldogs 41-7 Friday night.
Fyffe jumped to a 6-0 lead in their first offensive possession of the game. Geraldine received the opening kickoff, but the Red Devils’ defense put a quick stop to the Bulldogs’ offense. Fyffe forced Geraldine into a punt, but the snap was bad, and the ball was recovered at the Bulldogs’ 20-yard line. Fyffe then scored their touchdown on a pass to Ike Rowell. The PAT was no good and Fyffe led 6-0.
Payton Anderson scored on a 14-yard touchdown in Fyffe’s following offensive possession to move the Red Devils ahead 12-0 after the failed 2-point conversion.
Anderson would score Fyffe’s last touchdown of the half on a 4-yard run halfway through the second quarter. The Red Devils then performed a reverse that ended in the hands of Rowell for the 2-point conversion, giving Fyffe the 20-0 lead at halftime.
Fyffe would receive the opening kickoff in the beginning of the second half and took the ball to their own 36-yard line. Anderson was then handed the ball where he sprinted down the sideline to reach Geraldine’s 1-yard line. Anderson scored the following play making it 27-0 after the field goal.
Fyffe would score two more touchdowns before the end of the fourth and would only allow Geraldine to score one touchdown for the duration of the entire game.
Fyffe will host Section this week and Geraldine will host Plainview.
