Fyffe Rolls Over Plainview
Fyffe took down Plainview on Friday, September 27, in a contest shortened by lightning. Ike Rowell put the Red Devils on the board first with a 20-yard touchdown run just seconds into the game. Brody Dalton was good on his first of five PATs on the night, and Fyffe led 7-0. After a quick defensive stop, Zach Pyron scored from 7 yards out on a quarterback keeper to stretch the Red Devils’ lead to 14-0 midway of the first quarter. On the opening play of Plainview’s next drive, Justin Stiefel stepped in front of a Noah White pass and took it 31-yards for a pick-six to give Fyffe a 21-0 advantage. After another stalled Bear drive, Rowell put a lid on the first quarter with an 8-yard scoring run to put the Red Devils up 28-0. Pyron added one more score in the second quarter with a 53-yard touchdown run. After a brief lightning delay coming out of halftime, the two teams agreed on two six-minute quarters to end the game before more lightning could move into the area. Neither team scored in the second half, and Fyffe rolls over Plainview 35-0. Rowell finished the night with 12 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Pyron carried the ball seven times for 102 yards and two scores.
