The Ider Lady Hornets finished as the Class 2A Girls Northeast Regional runner-up falling to W 52-42 during last week’s championship matchup at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Ider’s Makinley Traylor led the Hornets’ offensive efforts scoring 14 points and five steals. KK Wilborn netted 13 points, Cambree Chapman tallied six points, including five rebounds; Julie Mavity added six points, KK Wilborn finished with 16, Kennzie Smith had five points, and Aubree Chapman chipped in two points.
Ider’s Makinley Traylor and KK Wilborn were named to the Class 2A All-Tournament Team along with Pisgah’s Paisley Patalas, Pleasant Valley’s Macey Roper, and Lanett’s Laila Lancaster and Nakeriona Head (MVP).
Susan Moore 63, Plainview 43
The Plainview Lady Bears capped their season as the Class 3A Girls Northeast Regional runner-up falling to Susan Moore 63-43 during last week’s championship game at Jacksonville State University.
Plainview’s Lauren Jimmerson led the Bears with a team-high 15 points and five rebounds, Saydi Jackson added six points, three steals, and five rebounds Sawyer Kate Hulgan finished with six points and two steals, Kami Sanders had five points and four rebounds, Ali Price tallied five points, while Emma Grace Traylor and Gracie Rowell each chipped in three points.
Plainview’s Lauren Jimmerson was named to the Class 3A All-Tournament Team along with Ohatchee’s Jorda Crook, Glencoe’s Jaxson Sizemore and Susan Moore’s Lacey Floyd, Lanie Smallwood and Cali Smallwood (MVP).
