NSM Defeated Cedar Bluff
The North Sand Mountain Bison handed Cedar Bluff their first loss of the 2019 season Friday night. NSM scored first with a 7-yard touchdown run by Fernando Luna. Next, Green connected with Lake Bell for a 22-yard scoring strike to put the Bison up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. The lead jumped to 22-0 early in the second when Green scored on an 18-yard keeper, and Bell ran for the 2-point conversion. The Tigers finally got on the board in the second quarter, but NSM answered with a 50-yard pick-six by Damon Gentle to close the first half out at 28-6. Green found Derek Bearden for a 28-yard scoring strike in the third and then called his own number minutes later for a 5-yard touchdown run to stretch NSM’s lead to 42-14. Cedar Bluff would score once more, but touchdown runs by Cade McBryar and Gentle of 22 yards and six yards respectively, sealed the issue, and NSM handed Cedar Bluff their first loss to the tune of 55-22. Landon Green went 7-of-9 passing for 115 yards and two touchdowns, while Damon Gentle led the Bison rushing attack with 16 carries for 141 yards and a touchdown. Green also rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns. Lake Bell had five receptions for 73 yards and one touchdown.
