Plainview dominated Brindlee Mountain Friday night to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. Brody McCurdy put the Bears on the board first with a 3-yard touchdown run just over two minutes into the opening period. Geo Chapparo kicked his first of 5 PATs on the night, and Plainview led 41-6. Logan Bell stretched the lead to 14-0 on the Bears’ next possession with a 44-yard scoring run, and then followed it up with a 20-yard touchdown run to close out the first quarter at 20-0. In the second quarter, Noah White ran for a 12-yard touchdown and then connected with Corey Blaire for another, a 42-yarder, to close out the half at 34-0. Dillon McCullough scored Plainview’s last touchdown, a 9-yard run in the third quarter. The Lions avoided the shutout when Jaylen Anderson scored from nine yards out, but in the end, Plainview dominated Brindlee Mountain for the 41-6 win. Bell led the Bears on the ground with 119 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. White contributed 83 yards rushing, and his only completion of the night was a touchdown. McCurdy had five carries for 44 yards and a score. Sam Crowell added 20 yards to the effort, while McCullough rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Bryson Richey and White both grabbed interceptions while McCurdy added a sack.
