Sylvania’s Braiden Thomas and Aiden Parham duo accounted for four touchdowns in leading the Class 3A 45-22 thrashing of Region 6 opponent Westbrook Christian last Friday night.
With the win, the Rams closed out regional play securing the No. 2 seed in the postseason, improving to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the region standings.
Thomas got Sylvania rolling late in the first quarter, laying the foundation for Jaxon Smith to connect with Josh Scott for a Rams first touchdown run.
Smith found Parham for a touchdown pass, lifting the Rams ahead 14-7. On the ensuing drive, Sylvania recovered a Warrior fumble, adding three more points to the scoreboard.
Thomas fired off his second scoring run of the evening, and Conner Andrade’s PAT made it 24-7 at the half.
In the second half, the Warriors rallied but fell short as Sylvania added three more touchdowns furthering their lead and putting it out of reach for Westbrook Christian.
Thomas led the Rams with 13 carries for 184-yards rushing and two touchdowns. Parham had 10 carries for 100-yard rushing and two scores, and Scott added a touchdown run.
Smith completed 5 of 8 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and Turner went 2 of 3 for 10-yards and had one INT.
Sylvania closes out regular season play against county rival Fyffe (9-0, 7-0) on Friday before taking on Fayette County (7-2, 4-2) on Nov. 4 in the first round of playoffs.
